Very belatedly, but Happy New Year!
I think I said something about taking a break until the New Year... ummm, well, it's definately the new year, isn't it? Christmas was lovely and slow this year. The week following even slower as I was next in line for the Henderson cold from Hell. I spent the week on the couch mostly watching everyone play and blowing my nose. Not exactly the way I had it all planned out, but at least I made it through Christmas before catching the bug.
Anyway, the big big news around here happened this year on New Year's Eve. Ainsley's friend of many years and boyfriend for the past year proposed! He asked Mike for her hand a couple of days before New Year's Eve and then hatched a plan to get our family, his family and their friends to a cozy little restaurant for a surprise proposal. We were all gathered on the top floor under the eaves when he arrrived with Ainsley. Down on one knee-- (his prepared speech was forgotten) he asked the BIG question-- "Will you marry me, Ainsley?" She answered yes, and then applause from the guests followed. Can you imagine? This guy has chutzpah for asking us all to be there-- some of us are known hecklers, after all ;)
We are so happy for the both of you. Welcome to the fam, Jeff. You are a brave soul to take us all on :-O
(Photos later of the happy couple-- mine turned out terribly from where I was sitting in the dark. And better blogging again soon, my proposal for now... I needed some time away for a bit. XOKelly)
